20th August 2026 was a memorable date for everyone associated with Molly Ollys.
Being featured on BBC The One Show and knowing that our story was being watched by around 3million people was an incredible feeling and testimony to all the hard work that has been put in over the years.
After the devasting death of Molly to cancer aged 8, parents Rachel Ollerenshaw and Tim Ollerenshaw, alongside a few wonderful friends, decided to continue Molly’s legacy by supporting children around the UK with life-threatening illnesses. In 2012, from a lounge turned office at their home, Rachel and Tim became co-founders of Molly Ollys and since then our charity has gone on to raise almost £6million and supported over 21,500 children directly and indirectly.
It was fitting that those friends accompanied Rachel, Tim, their family and Molly Ollys colleagues to have a ‘watch-along’ to take in just how far the charity has come in 14 years.
Our work doesn’t stop by being on the telly of course and this year alone we’ve seen an increase of 100 wishes compared to this time last year. We continue to strive to get Molly Ollys name out there and make those unimaginable dark days a little brighter for the children and families who need our support.
