FEWS MARQUEES PULLS IN PUNTERS AT HANBURY COUNTRYSIDE SHOW BY RECREATING THE LOOK AND FEEL OF LOCAL PUB

Oct 9, 2022 | News

A much-loved local pub, demolished in 2015, was recreated at Hanbury Countryisde Show at Park Hall Farm to the delight of former punters.

Time was called on the the Red Lion at Bradley Green 7 years ago, causing sadness amongst the local community. Ian Few from Fews Marquees – who was a regular at the pub – managed to acquire the original bar and signage.

He came up with the idea of using his stand at the July show to recreate the atmosphere of the Red Lion for locals and to raise money for Molly Ollys which is Fews’ nominated charity.

£2,795 was raised through donations at the bar and the stand was very busy throughout the day and into the early hours.

Rachel, co-founder of Molly Ollys, said; “What a great way of raising funds for the charity. Fews has been a supporter of ours for a long time for which we are very grateful. It is lovely for the locals of the Red Lion to be able to step back into familiar surroundings for the day and enjoy a pint. The money raised from this event will help us to deliver at least 5 wishes for 5 extremely ill children. Thank you. “

HELP MAKE WISHES COME TRUE

Current data suggests that 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every day, and that 1,900 children under the age of 14 in the UK are diagnosed each year.

More children are diagnosed with a range of other, often rare, conditions and illnesses that are also life-threatening.

Molly Ollys is committed to helping as many of these children and their families as possible, and works hard to raise the necessary funds to be able to help those who contact us.

You can help us do this by making a donation, joining in with our fundraising events, running your own events, using Give as You Live when you are shopping, and by leaving a legacy in your will. Please visit our How you can help page to find out more.
